Mommy Black is Under-the-Weather

Mommy Black is down, I repeat... Mommy Black is dooooown!!!

As many of you may (or may not) know, Mommy Black and Mommy Boo are in a constant struggle with various health-related issues. It sucks, but they both try to make the best of it. In fact, they became close friends over their mutual diagnoses of Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome!

In addition to APS, Mommy Black has Lupus, SLE. You know when you get a cold or flu and you have body aches and can't move? Well, that's similar to what Lupus feels like for Mommy Black. When she's "flaring" her joints ache, it's sometimes difficult for her to walk, she has trouble concentrating or comprehending things, and she can suffer from a various immune reactions. These "flares" can manifest in a wide variety of ways: pleurisy (intense pain around the lungs), breathing issues, migraine, flashes of chest pain, rashes, hearing loss, seveeeeere fatigue, and basically not being able to move (to name just a few).

More recently, in the last year, she's been dealing with anemia, which has taken her typical fatigue to a whole-'nother-level. Oral therapy has not worked, so she's steadily having to undertake more aggressive treatments to combat her low iron levels.

The reason why we've decided to let everyone know, is so that folks understand that when we say that the Caregivers are "sick," we don't mean with the typical cold, we mean that they're truly down for the count. Because it may take months to recover, we may have to put particular projects, or sessions, on hold for a long while. We understand that this can be frustrating, but we appreciate your patience SO MUCH.

It's also important for you to have this information because it gives you an idea of why Little Baby Boo Nursery is being so adamant about refraining from in-person sessions. Researchers have reported higher rates of severe COVID-19 and death in people with autoimmune disease than in the general population. So, while the Caregiver's love and miss their littles, sweet snuggles are not worth potential death. :/

Hopefully this information gives folks more insight into what's going on behind-the-scenes and why activities and videos tend to come out in waves. We at Little Baby Boo Nursery are here for the long-haul, so please don't be scared if there are some moments of slow-down. Just give us some time and we'll return.

Sending love and light!
